How to get involved

It’s very simple to help Folk for Refugees. As a starter, we’re suggesting that every festival and venue invites audience members to donate Just £1 on every ticket purchase. In a normal year, this alone could raise tens of thousands of pounds. There are several simple ways you can help…

Artists & Groups

As well as contributing to the CD (track submissions are welcomed until 31st Jan 2022 – email contact@folkforrefugees.com for more info), artists can support us by
  • Adding a £1 donation to merch sales
  • Spreading the word – talk about Folk for Refugees at gigs, in your emails and on social media
  • Participating in fundraisers – talk to your local venue about this
  • Groups – Morris sides, rapper dancers – create or participate in a fundraising event

Festivals

Festivals can help us by making Folk for Refugees their nominated charity.
  • Invite ticket purchasers to make a small voluntary donation when they buy their ticket
  • Donate space for us to sell the CD and other merchandise
  • Collect donations at the event via our volunteers

Venues, Clubs & Promoters

Folk for Refugees wants to reach every venue and club in the UK. You can support us by
  • Adding a discretionary ticket surcharge
  • Holding fundraising events
  • Promoting Folk for Refugees to your mailing list and audiences

Audiences / none of the ABOVE?

Whatever you do, please spread the word – find us on Twitter or Facebook and share what we’re doing. Very soon, you’ll be able to donate on this site, and we’ll have a range of merch available as well as the Folk for Refugees CD.
