Meet the team behind Folk for Refugees.
Ed Butcher is organiser / compere of the monthly Walton Folk gigs at Riverhouse Barn and co-founder of Walton Folk Festival in Walton on Thames. A huge advocate of the power of music to unite people, he’s often found raving about the latest track he’s heard. When he’s not talking about music, he is a digital marketing and marketing automation consultant.
Jon Wilks is a content strategist and digital marketing consultant who also happens to write about, and perform, traditional folk music. A former Editorial Director at Time Out, he has since worked on content strategy for some of the UK’s biggest brands, and as a digital consultant to The British Library. He can most regularly be found editing tradfolk.co.
Peter is a writer for Folk Radio UK and one of the team behind Walton Folk Festival. He works for an international development charity and has visited, filmed and interviewed refugees and displaced people at the Rohinga camps in Bangladesh, Syrian families in Lebanon and people displaced by conflict in Nigeria. He’d play harmonica more if he could remember where he left them.
